Lagos, Portugal:
Unforgettable Catamaran Adventure from Lagos to Praia da Luz
Spending just three nights in Lagos with my two nieces, meant we needed to make every moment count. So we looked for tours that would give us the perfect blend of adventure and relaxation. One of the best decisions we made was to book a catamaran cruise from Lagos to Praia da Luz. It was definitely the best day trip from Lagos, in our opinion!
Setting Sail
Our journey began on a sunny afternoon at Marina de Lagos. As we boarded the catamaran, we were greeted by a cheerful crew. The boat was comfortable, offering both covered and uncovered places to sit. The promise of seeing some of the Algarve’s most stunning scenery had us all excited.
The Majestic Ponta da Piedade
Our first destination was Ponta da Piedade. The cliffs and rock formations here are unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Towering above the crystal-clear water, these natural structures create a dramatic and beautiful coastline. We spent a good while just gazing and taking photos. It’s hard to capture the beauty of this place in words, it’s something you really need to see for yourself.
Discovering Praia da Luz
Next, we sailed towards Praia da Luz, a charming beach town has a volcanic landscape and palm-lined promenade. The catamaran anchored in a tranquil bay, and we were given the chance to dive into the clear, inviting waters. Yes please! My nieces had a blast snorkeling and trying out the paddle boards, and it was brilliant to see them having so much fun.
Relaxation Time
After our water adventures, we returned to the catamaran and relaxed on the sunbathing nets. There’s something incredibly soothing about lying in the sun, with the gentle movement of the boat and the sound of the waves. We also enjoyed a few cheeky drinks and simply soaked in the beauty around us as we made our way back to Lagos.

Final Thoughts
